Austria's highest mountain (3798m) offers great mountaineering in various difficulties. It's south ridge, the so-called "Stüdlgrat" which forms a straight line from the Stüdl Hut (outstanding kitchen!) to the summit is a pretty demanding climb on excellent rock, whereas the regular route is also suiteable for less experienced mountaineers.
